We are a group of ten "Universities of the Third Age " (more commonly known as U3As) based in the South West of the "old"County of Lancashire. There are now 800+ U3As in the UK alone. To join you do not need academic qualifications but must not be in full time employment or education. Most of our members are in fact retired or semi-retired. U3As offer a wide range of stmulating activities. In fact between our Network U3As we offer almost 200 different groups, classes, visits, games, walks etc etc.

Everything in the u3a world costs very little so student debt is not likely to become a problem (unless you choose to go on ALL the holidays, NW theatre and Philharmonic trips on offer!). The purpose of this website is to make it easy to see what each local U3A offers, to help you choose where to start. They do differ in size but all promise a warm welcome. We look forward to seeing you soon.
